3. Manmarziyaan

Anurag’s take on a love story in Manmarziyaan is as complicated in its demeanour as any of his other films. 4. Mukkabaaz

Director Anurag Kashyap, in his first sports-centric film, intertwines the story with a love angle. A robust tale on the hardships a boxer has to face against those who are in the higher echelons is a must-watch.

5. Saand Ki Aankh

Produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar, Saand Ki Aankh is shouldered by Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu as two grandmothers who break away from the patriarchal chains and establish themselves as sharpshooters. An underdog story of suppressed women with colossal potential, Tushar Hiranandani’s directorial debut was a major success.
