Following a flurry of news reports concerning the abandonment and postponing of numerous prominent prestigious awards, it was recently disclosed that the Oscars 2022 event will have a host after going three years without it. In 2017 and 2018, Jimmy Kimmel presented the famous ceremony, which garnered a great reception from the crowd. The Oscars 2022 will be shown in March.
According to a leading magazine, at ABC’s segment of the winter Television Critics Association digital publicity tour, Craig Erwich, president, reportedly said that the Oscars ceremony in 2022 will have a presenter for the first time after a three-year hiatus. Although the president did not reveal the names of the individuals who would host the Oscars in 2022, he did make a quip about the possibility that it may be him. Erwich went on to discuss Oscars executive producer Will Packer, saying that he has his finger on the beat of popular culture and showbiz and that he has a lot coming out shortly.
Though Jimmy Kimmel headlined the last two Oscars in 2017 and 2018, Chris Rock, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Seth MacFarlane, Billy Crystal, and James Franco/Anne Hathaway have all previously hosted the event.
On March 27, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT, the Academy Awards will broadcast live on ABC and distribution channels 9in over 200 nations across the world. The event will take place in the Dolby Amphitheater in Hollywood’s Hollywood & Highland Center. The Oscars nominee list for 2022 will be revealed on February 8, 2022, according to the organizing committee.
