Prakash Jha’s latest inspiring social drama Pareeksha is an emotional and honest story about the class divide in the Indian education system.

ZEE5’s latest release, Pareeksha, directed by Prakash Jha was already a favourite at film festivals. Ever since the film released on the OTT platform, it has been winning hearts of audiences all over the country. Adil Hussain plays the role of a poor rickshaw driver and father who realises that his son is a bright student and has a chance to escape their poverty through a good education. However, he faces huge obstacles in his path to give his son the education he deserves.

Before getting into the praise for different aspects of the film, many critics found the subject of the film itself compelling. While Times of India called it a ‘Film with noble intent’, Bookmyshow said the film was ‘An Honest depiction of an unfair system’. Indian Express said that the film ‘evokes strong sentiments’ in the viewers while IWM Buzz called it an ‘unabashed tearjerker’. Scroll noted the commendable acting with ‘Solid and credible performances’ while LetsOTT said the film is ‘Brilliantly written’.
