Annu Kapoor is a very versatile actor and he has yet again proven that with his recent projects like Paurashpur and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari.

Annu Kapoor is a very versatile actor and has yet again proven that with his recent projects like Paurashpur and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. In Paurashpur, he played the role of a sadist king whereas, in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, he was seen essaying the role of a quirky Marathi Kaka. The narratives of both these characters are very different yet Annu Kapoor managed to ace them both.

Watch the trailer of Paurashpur here:

In Paurashpur, he played the role of King Bhadrapratap – a cruel king who seeks gratification by hurting his queens. Kapoor has impeccably portrayed his role and has brought forth an element of realism in a fictional character. The show is set in medieval India and Kapoor has successfully managed to play a character hailing from that time. His dialect, dialogue delivery, body language, and overall acting has left the audience seriously impressed.

For someone who has played a role like that of Bhadrapratap, it wouldn’t have been easy to play a quirky role right after. But, Annu Kapoor has made the transition seem effortless and has won our hearts with his role in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari. He plays the role of Shantaram Kaka who is Madhu Mangal Rane’s sidekick in the film.

With his witty comebacks, ardent love for biryani and sense of humour, Shantaram kaka has really become our favourite. Fans absolutely loved Annu Kapoor in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari and were especially impressed by the ‘Marathi touch’ in his dialogues.

It was because of Shantaram kaka that Madhu came to realize his mistakes and understood Suraj’s love for Tulsi. If it weren’t for him, Suraj and Tulsi may have never been able to unite. Even though Kapoor’s character has a few negative traits, we can’t help but love him in the end.
