Ranbir Kapoor Urges Fans To Watch ‘State Of Siege: Temple Attack’, Praises Actor Mridul Das

Due to sensationalized storylines, reality-based films in Hindi cinema remain below the average level. With over-the-top storylines and excessive drama, the Indian audiences have clearly missed out on the beauty of historical fiction. However, ZEE5’s latest release State Of Siege: Temple Attack has slightly changed the scenario. The Akshaye Khanna-led film is raking great reviews from critics. And now, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has urged fans to watch the film as he praised actor Mridul Das.

Being a complete actioner, the film is an ode to the heroic tale of NSG commandos who rescued innocent people from the terrorist attack at Akshardham temple, Gujarat. While actors like Akshaye Khanna and a few others have stepped into the shoes of NSG commandos, TV star Mridul Das essays a negative role. The film also marks Mridul’s movie debut and thus sharing his best wishes, actor Ranbir Kapoor has come forward in support.

On Sunday, Mridul shared a video on his Instagram handle with Ranbir while the both of them were enjoying the game of football. As seen in the clip, Ranbir requests fans to watch State Of Siege: Temple Attack on ZEE5. “Give him all the love,” Ranbir said before getting back to the game. Sharing the video, Mridul wrote, “I love you Ranbir Kapooor!!!!!! I am crying.”

For those unversed, Mridul Das essays the role of a terrorist in the film. The actor’s “psychotic yet real”  portrayal has garnered him great critical acclaim. Earlier in an interview, Mridul had shared that he got shortlisted among 150-200 people who had auditioned for the role.

Directed by Ken Ghosh, State Of Siege: Temple Attack is one of the finest films based on true events. Despite being a high-pitched actioner, the film stands strong doing justice to the real scenario that shook the whole nation.
