Bollywood actor Sharad Kelkar is known for his strong, impactful roles. And that’s exactly how we saw him in Bhuj: The Pride Of India as Army Major Ram Karan Nair aka RK Nair. His role alongside Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt was a highly significant one in the battle fought for Bhuj Airways. In a recent interview, Sharad opened up about working with Ajay Devgn, his thoughts on the film being released on OTT and more.

Sharad Kelkar expressed that now that the film is out for the audience to see, he’s waiting for feedback and reviews from the audience. He also called Bhuj, a technically sound film and stated that it has one of the best VFX treatments given to a film. Talking about the challenges of making a film set in the 1970s, Sharad said that it was difficult to recreate the effect of an entire era. He also added how every costume, every jeep and every prop in the set had to be curated according to the 1970s.

The Bhuj actor also talked about shooting at various locations including an army range where the team also witnessed tanks being fired. Commenting on how Covid induced lockdown affected the film, Sharad added that it gave them enough time to review the film and make it better. He also added that since patchwork was the only thing left, they could easily finish it once things opened up.

Talking about the OTT release, Sharad claimed that during such stressful times, everybody needs entertainment. And if theatres aren’t opening up, then OTT space would be their go-to for some relief. Thus, he adds it’s good that at least films are getting released to provide some comfort in these trying times.
