The matter was then taken up by the National Commission for Women and their chairperson Rekha Sharma who went up to the Maharashtra Police. Also, the actor defended himself through the accusations of misogyny and shame but saying that his remarks he intended to refer to the classic English idiom ‘cock and bull story’ which translates to an absurd, weird story presented as the truth. The actor even mentioned how he didn’t mean to sound disrespectful at all and he joined hands in the virtual Twitter war as well.

However, many refused to accept his statements. Saina Nehwal’s husband and badminton player Chinmayi Sripaada, and many other public figures are still reluctant about his statements. Many were offended by his remarks and expressed their outrage on social media by tagging the actor and many female public figures accused Siddharth’s words as pure misogyny.

Also, above all, even before Siddharth had clarified and explained his Tweets, National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Rekha Sharma demanded that Siddharth’s Twitter handle must be suspended.
