Sonalee Kulkarni Marries Kunal Benodekar In Dubai, Check Out Pics

Marathi Actress Sonalee Kulkarni who has been popular for over a decade has finally decided to settle down and tie the knot! Last year in May, on her birthday, the actress introduced her fiance Kunal Benodekar to the world. Ever since, she has often posted lovey dovey pictures of the two, including when he proposed to her as well! While they have been engaged for a year now, they decided to get hitched in a simple ceremony at a Hindu temple in Dubai! Read to find out why the actress chose such a simple ceremony!

Sonalee Kulkarni had been gearing up for her big day and had been very vocal about it. Many months ago she was undergoing skin treatments too to look her best for her big day. The couple was slated to have a June wedding in the UK but plans had to be changed due to the Coronavirus!

The actress said that their UK wedding had to be postponed as the UK was going through a second wave and later banned the travel of Indians to the country. She mentioned that her parents are in India while Kunal’s parents are in London. She was in Dubai for a shoot of a film which she completed but got stuck there as India’s second wave worsened. Kunal was also in Dubai and it was uncertain when the two would be in the same country again. They also decided to cancel their big wedding plans due to many rules and restrictions of the Covid-19 guidelines.

They also did not feel like spending so much money while the rest of the country was suffering and decided to save the money and use it to help people in India instead. Then they spent two days planning the wedding and finished shopping for their big day in just one hour! They got blessings from their parents and married each other in a Hindu temple in Dubai!

Sonalee chose to match with her husband and the couple wore dark blue traditional outfits and Sonalee added a dash of pink with her blouse. She wore a nath to complete the Maharashtrian new bride look and it screams tradition and simplicity.

Many of Sonalee’s friends from the industry including best friend Prarthana Behere congratulated the couple and showered love in the comments. The wedding took place on May 7 and the actress announced it officially on the 18th of May! It all comes full circle as Sonalee Kulkarni chose her birthday, May 18 to make the announcement of her marriage, and this was the same day last year when she introduced Kunal as her fiance to the world too!
