It’s late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s birth anniversary on January 21. Today, scores of his fans will get emotional and are recall the memories that he left behind. Sushant was not only a phenomenal actor, but he was also a keen learner. He time and again kept talking about his passion for learning at several events and interviews. It all started for him after he learnt that he wanted to become an actor, whilst pursuing an engineering degree. On his birthday, here’s taking a look at how SSR inspired us to always dream big.
In 2016, when Sushant Singh Rajput was invited at Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, he spoke at length about his journey. Sushant talked about his journey from being an engineer, a civil services aspirant, to becoming an actor. His words at the beginning of the speech had gone immensely viral. He had said, “Excuse me if I falter, excuse me if I don’t make sense, excuse me if I get a panic attack right now, but I’ll try my best.” Not only this but the actor had mentioned that his family had told him to become an engineer as that would open the doors for all kinds of happiness.
However, later, he realised his passion was somewhere else and he dropped out of engineering and moved to Mumbai to become an actor. SSR rose to fame after his performance in Pavitra Rishta was well-received by fans. He debuted in Bollywood with Kai Po Che! and was then a part of several movies. During his interview with Komal Natha in Starry nights, Sushant had mentioned that while he was doing theatre in Bombay, after he dropped out from college, he became a background dancer and that he had danced behind stars like Shahid Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan. After he stepped into the world of cinema, he wooed fans with his acting prowess and then there was no looking back for him.

Sushant Singh Rajput passed away on June 14, 2020, at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. His last movie in Bollywood remains Dil Bechara, opposite Sanjana Sanghi, that revolves around a love story between two cancer patients. The movie is an adaptation of John Green’s novel- The Fault in Our Stars. His film hit the bullseye and garnered magnanimous love from his fans.
Sushant’s demise left a major void in our hearts and his memories will be cherished by us forever. He kept striving to live his life to the fullest and kept inspiring us unknowingly. There’s so much to learn from his journey. A small-town boy from Bihar who kept dreaming big, he taught to keep aspiring. We miss you Sushant and thank you for teaching us how to dream!
