While the lockdown is making sure that most of the devotees are celebrating from home. These clips prove people found new ways to show their joy.

The usual fervour and excitement of devotees in the streets during the festivities of Ganesh Chaturthi was missing this year. However, people found different ways online to show their devotion to Ganpati in small gestures. This year there was a focus on using eco-friendly idols and cooking up different variations of modaks. Shubhangi Atre (Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain) made her own Ganesh idol with mud and water and a few seeds. The speciality of using a Ganpati idol with seeds is that you don’t need to do the visarjan in water. You can just pour it into a pot and grow new plants from it making sure Ganpati stays at your home in a unique way.

Anita Date from the Marathi TV show Mazhya Navryachi Bayko, showed how to make your own home decorations for Ganesh Chaturthi. Using only the skeleton of an old umbrella and a few colourful garlands.
