Kumkum Bhagya and Kundali Bhagya have been two of the most popular shows on Zee TV for many years now and fans are always excited to know what happens on the sets of these two shows. As Women’s Day is just around the corner, we spoke to some of our favourite Zee beauties, Swati Kapoor, Mudgha Chaphekar and Ruhi Chaturvedi from these shows regarding the challenges that they faced, the industry they are working in and how did they #BreakTheBarriers. Read ahead what they had to say about it.
Swati Kapoor who plays the role of the evil Mahira in Kundali Bhagya was bubbly and lovely during the chat. When we asked her if she faced a lot of challenges in life, she said that she didn’t have to because her mother was always there to protect her. She explained that her mother went through so much in life that she had a lot of experience of most things. Hence her mother was able to guide her and save her from many issues that Swati faced.
For ZEE5’s campaign, #ChooseToChallenge Swati was given the opportunity to challenge someone and she chose to challenge house owners! Yes, you read that right! Swati chose to challenge house owners who are looking to rent out their houses but will not give to single females! She said that it is 2021, it’s a modern world. They must realise that single women are not bad and can make for great tenants!

When asked to give a message to her female fans, she said, “Live your life the way you want to. Don’t bother about what people will say, what people will think and what society says!”

Kumkum Bhagya’s Prachi aka Mugdha Chaphekar mentioned that she has had the best support from her parents from a young age and that has made her strong.

Her parents never differentiated between her and her younger brother and there were no restrictions that didn’t apply to them both. This helped her not create barriers for herself and not face too many hurdles! She also added that being born and brought up in Mumbai helped! She was free to do whatever she chose to, but her parents told her to make sure that it would make her proud, not just others!
When asked to #ChooseToChallenge, she challenged each reader to get out of bed and step out to achiever their dreams. She said that they must take the first step and look for inspiration and be what they want to be!
Ruhi Chaturvedi who plays the best villain, Sherlyn Luthra in Kundali Bhagya, was extremely candid in her interview. She mentioned that she came from a family where she did not face any issues, and in fact, her family was very supportive. She told us that her grandfather especially encouraged her to get into modelling and acting!

She knows that a lot of people do face many issues as women and that there is gender discrimination around but in a hopeful smile, she said that things are definitely better than before. In 2021, things are progressing and soon these problems could cease to exist!
Speaking of #ChooseToChallenge, she urged our readers to challenge their barriers and be honest with their parents. She said that they should be frank about becoming something and tell their parents so that they would support them instead of getting in the way!
