Kumkum Bhagya‘s Pragya and Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega‘s Guddan made a place in the hearts of the audience in a very short span of time. The impeccable performance of the actors made these characters a household name. Though the story of their serial makes it quite evident how different their journey and path is, it seems both the characters have a couple of things in common, which we as viewers might have missed. - The appearance and basic grounds
Kumkum Bhagya’s Pragya and Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega’s Guddan, both belong to a middle-class family residing in the city. Interestingly, coming to their appearance, both the leads were specs. Be it party wear or wedding outfit, their attire is incomplete without specs on their eyes. On the other hand, Pragya and Guddan both are very close to their parents family business, that is a marriage hall and a restaurant, respectively.

2. The character arcs
Looking closely at both the character, Pragya and Guddan love their families to eternity. They have gone beyond the limits to save their families. Remember, how Pragya accepted her faith after getting married to Abhi for the sake of BulBul’s safety? Here, Guddan as well tied the knot with a man to save the life of her step-sister. Interestingly, another thing which is common among them is they both have been raised by the single parent. Pragya lost her father at a very young age whereas Guddan had a step-mother but the latter never loved her.

3. Pragya and Guddan married against their wish
Kumkum Bhagya begins with a short-lived love triangle involving Pragya, Suresh and Bulbul, leading to the cancellation of Pragya’s engagement with Suresh. Later, under the strange circumstances, created by Abhi’s sister Aaliya and girlfriend Tanu, Pragya agreed to marry Abhi, though she never loved him. On the other side, Guddan too did not have any plan to marry AJ, who was a much older man and also a father of three young men.
