Aparajita Apu: Here’s why Apu, and not Monalisa, is the right match for Dipu

Aparajita Apu stars Susmita Dey as Apu and Rohaan Bhattacharjee as Dipu in lead roles. While Apu recently escaped her marriage successfully, Dipu is soon to get married to a girl of his mother, Abola’s choice. And one thing that is undeniably evident from what we have seen of Monalisa Dutta, Dipu’s to-be-bride, is that she is nothing close to being the right match for Dipu.

Although Apu was recently informed about Dipu’s upcoming marriage and that it was preponed too, she is unaware of who his to-be-wife really is. However, unaware of their mutual connection to Dipu, Apu and Monalisa recently met each other in a rather sour encounter. And not only did their meeting display the stark differences between them, but it also proved why Apu would be a much more suitable match for Dipu instead of Monalisa, any day.

Unkind and disrespectful

While Apu is a very respectful and caring human being, Monalisa’s impudent behaviour was clear. The impolite and ill-mannered Monalisa did not once hesitate before slapping a waiter, who in fact she unintentionally but carelessly pushed herself. While Apu has been known for being a very judicious young woman, which Dipu must have noticed while falling for her, Monalisa seems like a very unjust and discriminative person. Dipu, himself being a very kind and considerate young man, might be shocked if he found out about the incident or even this particular trait of his to-be-wife.

Privileged and discriminative

As fate would have it, Dipu and Apu have ended up developing feelings for each other that they are yet to fully realise and further, express to each other. However, Dipu’s marriage has unfortunately been fixated upon by his mother, Abola, with Monalisa Dutta. And we believe that she is everything that Dipu would never want in his potential life-partner, including her highly-privileged outlook on life. Hailing from a rich Bengali household, she felt that she had no need to apologise to a waiter coming from a poorer section of society. Despite being from a rich family himself, Dipu has never been the type of person to take advantage of his financial status and may not be okay with such a perspective.

Dishonest and two-faced

Additionally, while Dipu knows how straightforward and honest Apu is, he remains unaware of the two-faced girl that Monalisa really is. She had arrived at the Mukherjee residency pretending to be a very shy, obedient, and conservative girl, and in the agreement of the potential marriage. However, she was loud and clear to her boyfriend about how she wanted to marry him instead of Dipu, who she said she dreaded. The massive differences in her perspectives, morals, and choices, whether it be lifestyle or clothing, were extremely noticeable too.

Involvement with another boy

The worst part of this potential nuptial between the two is how the latter is involved with another man. While on one hand, her marriage has been fixed with Dipu already, she has been busy spending time with her boyfriend.
