Bollywood Breaking: NCB Issues a Notice to Karan Johar Over his Controversial 2019 Party Video

Karan Johar is one of the most popular faces of the Hindi film industry. A 48-years old filmmaker, producer, screenwriter and more, the celebrity has made several headlines for years now. The eminent Indian filmmaker was recently issued a notice by the Narcotics Control Bureau for his infamous video from one of his parties under an ongoing drugs case investigation by the intelligence body. NCB has been in the process of a deep investigation with regards to drugs ever since the demise of the popular Indian actor, Sushant Singh Rajput.

Karan Johar’s 2019 Party Video

Filmmaker-producer Karan Johar was recently sent a notice by the Narcotics Control Bureau regarding one of his viral videos of a 2019 party. Karan Johar and NCB have made numerous headlines together this year over the same. The video, which was shot at a party that Karan Johar hosted at his place last year, sparked up countless rumours and allegations about the guests having consumed drugs in the event. The video showed us the faces of several extremely popular celebrities of the Hindi film industry, such as Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Shakun Batra, Zoya Akhtar, Arjun Kapoor, and Ayan Mukherjee.

As most of us might be aware, NCB has been inspecting and investigating into the matter of drugs in Bollywood ever since the news of Sushant Singh Rajpur’s demise surfaced. This notice is supposedly a part of that ongoing investigation by the law enforcement body of India. Karan Johar is not required to make an appearance to NCB. Instead, he is allowed to send one of his representatives for the required proceedings. The Bureau has asked for the submission of details of the party and even the device that was used to shoot the video at the event. He has been given the deadline of December 18, 2020, for the same.

Earlier, when questions were being raised against the video, Karan explained himself in repeated instances saying he does not consume or promote the consumption of any drug that they were being accused of consuming at the party. He had also said that the allegations being made against him, his friends and the video were completely baseless and had even angered him at a point of time.
