Director Bommarillu Baskar scores a home run with salary for Most Eligible Bachelor
TollywoodDirectors normally settle for a package remuneration for any film project. However Bommarulli Baskar’s approach of working for a salary apparently stood him in good stead as the success of Most Eligible Bachelor is bringing him just rewards.
Quirky as it may seem, Bommarillu Baskar has hit the jackpot in seeking a salary for his Tollywood directorial venture Most Eligible Bachelor.
With Akil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, Bommarillu Bhaskar had worked for this film for a salary of Rs2 lakh per month. The filmmakers took care of his other expenses for as long as the film was on the floors. Normally, directors work for a total remuneration for a project. A revenue model that is a win-win for all stakeholders concerned involved in any film project is how most film industries like to work.
Vasu Varma and Bunny as jointly bankrolled this film. Industry reports indicate that the rom-com easily sailed over the break-even point from the producer’s point of view within the first week of its release and also brought them a neat profit as well. The cash registers have tallied Rs 24 crore thus far and are counting.
Bommarillu Baskar assured at least Rs 60 lakh for his efforts now is set to take home as much as Rs 1 crore and could well proudly say Main Bana Crorepati. Now that the cash registers have started ringing in for this film that was released during Dasara on October 15, the producers have announced a bonus for Bommarillu Baskar. He will get a share in the profits that the film has made. The success of the film has also enthused actor Akhil Akkineni to renew his association with Geetha Arts Production for his future projects.

With onscreen performances of Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde coming in for wholesome praise, the talk of the town was the success that the director Bommarillu Baskar silently scored from behind the camera. The banner hosted a success party for the cast and crew of the film recently.
What must be heartening for the makers of Most Eligible Bachelor was that it was pitted against Maha Samudram starring Aditi Rao Hydari and Sharwanand. Directed by Ajay Bhupathi as his second directorial venture, Maha Samudram however did not excite the box office to the extent its producers would have wanted it to.
