Is Tollywood becoming as popular as Bollywood?
TollywoodCovid pandemic has brought bad luck for the Bollywood industry. But surprisingly, Tollywood is doing extremely well.
It seems like the Tollywood is high on it’s gear with the successful releases of their movies. With hugely admired stars like Allu Arjun, Mahesh Babu to Prabhas, the southern movie industry is making huge profits. On the other hand Covid pandemic, has affected the Bollywood industry negatively with the releases of the Hindi movies Bell bottom and Chehre, having failed. it has not been able to make it big in the theatres. Further, hopes are being pinned on the future screening of the Kangana Ranaut’s movie Thalaivi slated to be released soon in both the Tamil and Telugu languages across the states.
In comparison Telugu movie production is doing admirably in the cinema halls even if the release of S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR is getting delayed, it is believed to be on the top of the list of winning movies starring Jnr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Shriya Saran and Olivia Morris believed to have the potential to give yet another hit in the theatres. Yet, another venture in Tollywood is gearing up to give a tough competition to Amir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, namely Pushpa starring Allu Arjun and Rashmi Mandanna and is to be released in multiple languages.
Tollywood has contributed immensely to the Bollywood industry in terms of dance and item numbers, which the latter was quick to imitate. However, the global presence of Boollywood movies still have not outshined the Telugu movie industry in it’s capacity to be full of fun and thus becoming extremely popular. The famous hunks of the movies have a huge fan following, thus putting even the greatest stars of the Hindi cinema to shame.
Telugu movies and other southern ones including the Tamil movie industry have made milestones with their vast entertainment value, unmatched and unimaginable in it’s glory to any Bollywood film worth it’s salt. What this trend proves is the future of the south Indian movies to go on to rule the roost across the country, which makes it a force to reckon with.
