Maari 09 August 2023 Written Update: Surya’s Love and Care towards Maari

In the previous episode of Maari, Tara and Jasmine sulk to see Surya performing ‘Nalangu’ for Maari. Surya tells Tara the reason for performing ‘Nalangu’ for Maari. Surya then pours water through the sieve on Maari and completes the ‘Nalangu’. He tells Maari to do the same for Jasmine. Maari thanks Jasmine when Surya performs the ‘Nalangu’ for her. Jasmine feels her plan succeeding when Maari begins with the ‘Nalangu’. But as Maari is about to begin with the ritual, Murugan intervenes and offers to perform the ‘Nalangu’ for Jasmine. Sankarapandi tells Murugan that Surya performed ‘Nalangu’ for Maari because she is his wife. Murugan requests Surya to permit him to perform the ‘Nalangu’ for Jasmine. But Jasmine insists that since Maari is born and raised in the village, she would prefer Maari to do the ritual, rather than Murugan. But a love-smitten Murugan opens his mouth and blabbers that he too is a villager, which raises doubts in Jasmine’s mind. Murugan’s words baffle Jasmine and her parents but shock Hasini and Maari.  Jasmine confronts Murugan, who tells that he has performed this ritual for many people in the village. But Murugan realises his stupidity and handles the situation. Maari taunts Jasmine when her plan to make Maari her servant fails. Murugan steps forward and performs ‘Nalangu’ for Jasmine leaving her fuming in anger. Hasini bursts out laughing when she imagines Jasmine to be a buffalo and Murugan performing ‘Nalangu’ for her. Maari too smirks when she realises Hasini’s imagination. Jasmine’s parents apologise to Murugan when Jasmine leaves the ritual abruptly. Jasmine gets irked by Murugan’s atrocities.  But Murugan enters the room and tells Tara the reason for his behaviour. Tara agrees with Murugan and tells Jasmine to be patient.

In the next episode of Maari,  Tara tells Jasmine to keep calm and assures her that Murugan will leave the marriage as decided. Surya blames himself when Maari catches a nasty cold and hurries out of the room. Tara notices Surya entering the kitchen and questions him. Surya tells Tara that he is keeping hot water for Maari to take steam. When Tara disapproves of Surya working in the kitchen, Surya tells her that when Maari takes care of him, it is his duty as well to take care of her. Tara tells Jasmine to be calm when she sulks to see Surya’s care for Maari. Maari is overwhelmed to see Surya’s love and concern for her. Surya covers the bedsheet over Maari and his head and takes steam. Jasmine watches the couple and gets angry. Maari tells Surya that she is fortunate to have found him as her soulmate, to which Surya takes her hand in his and tells her that he is lucky to have found her.

A frustrated Jasmine goes and narrates the turn of events to her and Sankarapandi. As Sankarapandi tells Tara to be careful of Surya leaning towards Maari. Murugan enters the room with a pot of hot water to help Jasmine get cured of her cold. Jasmine gets annoyed and yells at Murugan when tries to speak lovingly to her. Fearing Jasmine’s anger, the pot of hot boiling water falls on Sankarpandi’s feet leaving him in pain. The next day, Tara receives a call from Aravind and she is stunned when he demands one crore. Tara argues with Aravind and reassures him that she will arrange the money and call him. Tara approaches Surya and stages an act in front of Surya. Tara is pleasantly surprised when Surya readily agrees to give her the money. Surya goes to his room and tries to look for the checkbook but fails to find it. Maari is shocked when Surya tells her about Tara’s need. Tara tells Surya to give a blank cheque, to which he readily agrees. Soon after, Maari persuades Surya to drink the juice, and with a plan, drops juice on it. Tara and Jasmine are annoyed as they understand Maari’s intention. Maari tells Surya that it was the last chequebook and he has to apply for a new one. Then Maar, with a motive, to learn about Aravind’s whereabouts, tells Surya to send money online to Aravind. Unaware of Maari’s plan, Surya agrees with Maari.
