Mazhya Navraychi Bayko ruled TV screens for around four years before coming to an end this Sunday. The cast was seen partying in Goa after wrapping up their schedule and shared some lovely pictures from their trip. For the sole reason of the finale, the show even brought back Shanaya’s character to tie all the loose ends in the final episode. Abhijeet Khandekar, who played the role of Gurunath Subhedar took to Instagram to share a few thoughts on the end.
Take a look at the post he shared.

He talked about his apprehensions at the beginning of the show. He was to play a “grey” character and that would definitely define him as an actor for a while. He was apprehensive about taking up the role but he mentioned that the writer, producers and the director of the show were extremely talented people. He thought that with such big and talented makers, the possibility of the show going bad was very little and he decided to join it.

He also appreciated the writers Adwait Dadarkar, Abhijeet Guru and Rohini Ninawe in his post. He mentioned that the stellar cast was another reason why he joined the show and is extremely proud of them. He said that Gurunath’s “lovable bastard” image would not have come through so well if it hadn’t been for the efforts and the ideas of the creative team!
He congratulated Anita Date for playing Radhika with so much finesse that she made a place in everyone’s hearts. He also mentioned Rasika Sunil’s character Shanaya, which was tricky but she essayed the role so well that even as a villain, she came to be loved and adored by fans. Next, he also mentioned Isha Keskar, who also played Shanaya’s role to fit the bill perfectly!
In a gratuitous way, the actor mentioned how the show has not only given him unprecedented money and fame, but also immense love that he did not expect to receive for a negative character. Especially a negative character who stays crooked till the very end!
Abhijeet Khandkekar’s wife, actress Sukhada Khandkekar also shared a special post on the occasion.

Thank you for giving us this lovable jerk, Gurunath/Garry.. Nobody else could’ve pulled it off this effortlessly… He will be missed.”
And she is right, Garry will be missed for sure! We wish the actor the very best in his future endeavours.
