All this is thanks to his efforts to shed 16-kgs for his upcoming release Varudu Kaavalenu. This weight loss was perhaps dictated by demands of the role that required him to come across as a lean mean macho person on screen.
The resultant toning of body muscles gave Naga Shaurya a charismatic chiseled look and he stood out as a class apart in the various promos of the film that the makers have released thus far. Directed by debutante Lakshmi Sowjanya, Varudu Kavalenu is pencilled in for a theatrical release on October 29. The makers of the film released the trailer of Varudu Kaavalenu on October 22 in the presence of The Ghazi Attack hero Rana Daggubati, who was a special guest.
The Baahubali star effusive in his praise for the way Naga Shaurya shaped up for the role said that he would have even otherwise named the Oh Baby hero as the lead actor of Varudu Kavalenu as it was an apt title for him.

Pointing that Naga Shaurya came across as a Ramudu Manchi Baludu type of a person a reference to a 2007 Telugu film by the same name, Rana Daggubati said one could see the same type of goodness in Naga Shaurya. Observing that this may be because he is ‘bad’ on-screen, Rana Daggubati that Naga Shaurya came across as a decent person while wishing the film team the very best for this soon-to-be-released film.
For Naga Shaurya, the film Varudu Kavalenu is a complete family entertainer. Suryadevara Naga Vamsi has produced the film under the banner of Sithara Entertainments. Naga Shaurya has Ritu Varma as his leading lady in this film. The actor said the producers spend money on the project as required by the storyline and their spending is not just to cater to the hero’s market.
Praising his co-star Ritu Varma as a complete professional, Naga Shaurya said Lakshmi Sowjanya had narrated the story to him in 2018 on the back of the release of Chalo featuring him. The film has become big with Sithara Entertainments stepping in, the actor observed.
