HollywoodPriyanka Chopra Jonas took to Instagram sharing a teaser of the Matrix movie
Expect the Unexpected! That line can actually sum up the entirety of the Matrix series, a much-beloved cyberpunk genre film that was first released in 1999 and has now taken a cult-like status for the fans of the sci-fi genre. And moving that tradition forward, the news of the newest installment of the Matrix series, ‘The Matrix 4 or The Matrix Resurrection’ came through an unexpected source, the Bollywood diva Priyanka Chopra.
Priyanka Chopra, who is a part of the newest expansion of the Matrix world shared a link on her Twitter handle to a video of what can be considered a pre-trailer for the trailer of the movie with the caption, “And it’s almost time to take that pill! Trailer Thursday (September 09) at 6AM PT (6:30pm IST)”.
The video showcases two pills, the iconic blue and red pill, and asks the viewer to visit “WhatisTheMatrix.com”. On visiting the website in the throwback to the original series, the viewer is shown the same two pills and presented with a choice to click on either pill. On clicking each pill, the viewer is then led to two different voiceovers. One from Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and the other from Neil Patrick Harris presenting two different interpretations of the setting, much like the setup of two different realities of the entire Matrix series. Both the snippets end with the message of the release of the actual trailer on the next day.
The Matrix Resurrection, like the other counterparts in the series, is written, produced, and directed by Lana Wachowski. It is a joint production of Village Roadshow Pictures and Venus Castina Productions and is scheduled to be released by Warner Bros on December 22. It sees the return of the main trio of Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity, and Jada Pinkett Smith as Niobe from previous films in the series. The fourth installment sees the addition of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Christina Ricci.
