Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayan will be directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The filmmaker’s upcoming directorial Ramayan is a grand three-part mythological drama. The film had originally cast Mahesh Babu as Lord Ram, but due to date clashes, he decided to step out of the film. While on the other hand, the role of Ravan is going to be played by Hrithik Roshan. Earlier rumors suggested that the role of Ram would be played by Ranbir Kapoor; while Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor Khan were speculated to play the role of Sita. But, as of now, there is no official confirmation from the filmmakers. However, Kareena was trolled for asking a huge amount to play Sita’s character in the film.
Madhu Mantena, who has produced super hit movies like Ghajini, Super 30, Queen, and many more, is set to produce Ramayan too. Ramayan which stars an ensemble cast of Top A-listed celebs will reportedly be made at a grand price of Rs 750 crore. According to the sources, Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan will be paid Rs 75 crore each for portraying the role of Ram and Ravan respectively. The rest of the budget will be put into ostentatious costumes and into the making of a gigantic set of the film.
The producer is very passionate about this project as he was seen comparing his ambition for Ramayan to James Cameron’s Avatar in an interview. He said that he has the responsibility to tell this story and it requires a lot of work. He has also asked people to expect the biggest clash ever.
The movie is said to be a three-part mythological trilogy and is the adaption of the ancient Indian epic, composed sometime in the 5th century BCE by Valmiki. A lot have tried to adapt the ancient epic into a movie and show but none of them beat the epic interpretation of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, which starred Arun Govil as Ram, Dipika Chikhlia as Sita, and Sunil Lahiri as Laxman. The show also starred Indian professional wrestler, actor, and politician Dara Singh as Hanuman.

Though the cast is not fully confirmed yet, producer Madhu Mantena promises us the biggest clash in the country and a grand adaption of the Indian mythological epic.
