Richard Madden shocking disclosure about his character will make you fall for him in Eternals

In Eternals, the fourth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, prominent Hollywood actresses such as Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, and others make their Marvel Cinematic Universe debuts. Richard will play Ikaris, the most powerful Eternal who is likewise stuck between allegiance and love. The movie is directed by Chloé Zhao.
Madden expressed his excitement for the role during the press conference at the premier of the film. He said, he is used to playing lovers and that playing someone who is a soldier, fully driven by love was even more enjoyable. He continued, all of his (Ikaris’) decisions have been driven by love, and it is he who is fighting with that. He said he’s used to characters that are obsessed with their love and it shows, but Ikaris was the polar opposite.
Ikaris’ character traits were brought up during Eternals’ virtual global press conference, and it also included the cast, Chloé, and Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios in attendance, in comparison to other warrior roles played by Madden, such as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones, where duty and honour were a major factor. Richard was asked how intriguing it was for him to play a character who goes through a lot of internal turmoil throughout Eternals, and how it wasn’t comfortable for him.
He finished by noting that in the film, Ikaris is continuously battling with his responsibility and attempting to bury his love since it comes in the way of his duties. He went on to say that pulling out that interaction with all of the characters, from Sprite to Sersi, and figuring out what that relationship was like when one had to try to stick to duty but their feelings get in the way was what made it so exciting for him. It’s what the perpetual soldier wrestling in the movie is about, he remarked.
