Eternals, the highly anticipated Phase 4 film, is set to take over the Diwali weekend in India, with MCU fans eagerly expecting its release despite the COVID-19 outbreak’s many delays. In the Chloé Zhao-directed Eternals, Angelina Jolie makes her MCU debut as Thena, an elite Eternal warrior.
Angelina Jolie was asked about playing incredible cinematic warriors like Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider to movies like Wanted and Salt up until Thena in Eternals. And how her MCU character may be a Goddess of War but finds strength and survival in her survivor plot, which was incredible to watch on the big screen. At Eternals’ virtual global press conference, which the entire cast, Chloé, and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took part in. On resolving her internal conflicts and whether or not that attribute is what drew her to portray Thena.

Then, when they originally approached her about the story, it was truly the actors. It was a vision of what this family might be like.
