The show that focused on Anand Mathur and his five daughters, Meenakshi, Radhika, Sweety, Kajal, and Chhoti was a rage among the audience. Today, even after more than two decades since its premiere, it still remains one of the gems of Indian Television. Let’s take a look at how the cast of this exceptional show looks like now.

Ashok Saraf as Anand Mathur
Ashok Saraf played Anand Mathur, a hilariously helpless man who was often in a mess because of the ladies in his life. The actor is a popular Marathi actor who has acted in more than 200 movies, in both Hindi as well as Marathi.
Shoma Anand as Bina Mathur
Shoma Anand portrayed a completely different version of a stepmother as Bina Mathur. Although initially, she didn’t like Anand’s kids from his first wife, later she loved all her kids equally. Shoma Anand is a popular face in Indian Television and Film industry, who has worked with popular actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and more.
Priya Tendulkar as Anand’s first wife
Priya Tendulkar essayed the role of Anand’s deceased wife who talked with him through a portrait. The actress also had her own talk show and was a budding activist. Unfortunately, she succumbed to cancer in 2002 before the show ended in 2005.
Vandana Pathak as Meenakshi
Vandana Pathak is a very popular face on Indian Television. She essayed the role of Meenakshi, Ashok’s eldest daughter, who was a total feminist. The actress has worked in many TV shows and Gujarati films, with her role of Jaishri being one of the most iconic ones.

Amita Nangia as Radhika
Radhika was the cute, nerdy sister. Her role was initially essayed by Amita Nangia. The actress later worked on quite a few shows on Indian Television.
Vidya Balan as Radhika
Amita Nangia was replaced by Vidya Balan who then essayed the role of Radhika. This was Vidya’s first stint as an actress, and she worked on the show till she got an offer to enter Bollywood. Vidya is currently one of the top actresses in the industry with iconic films like Kahani 2, Mission Mangal and more in her kitty.
Rakhee Tandon (née Vijan) as Sweety
Rakhee’s Sweety was a total bimbo, a perfect example of beauty without brains, whose sole purpose in life was to be the next Miss World and of course, marry Shah Rukh Khan. Kudos to Rakhee for playing this role brilliantly. Since then, Rakhee has been a part of many popular TV shows and Bollywood films.
Bhairavi Raichura as Kajal
Bhairavi’s Kajal Bhai was another iconic character from this show. Kajal was the tomboyish sister who bullied her sisters and got herself involved in all sorts of trouble. This was Bhairavi’s debut and the actress has then worked on many popular TV shows including Satrangi Sasural and more.
Priyanka Mehra as Choti
When the show started, Choti, the youngest sister was a child going to school. Her role was essayed by Priyanka Mehra who as per reports went on to work in a magazine and then joined a production house. She also refused to be a part of the show’s reboot.

Pooja was that typical nosey aunty in every neighbourhood. Her role was brilliantly played by Aruna Sangal and her dialogue “Aunty Matt Kaho Na!” was extremely popular among the fans of the show. The actress has then worked in many TV serials since then.
