With the daily lives of Munna (played by Siddharth), Babu (played by Bharath), Juju (played by Nakhul), Krishna (played by) and Kumar (played by Manigandan) being monotonous and unruly, one day when Munna’s parents leave the house, the five friends decided to call up a prostitute named Rani.

One fine day the gang trips over a drunkard who was laying wasted in a bar whose name was Mangalam. The 5 friends help him up and give him a hand to reach his home. Soon, Mangalam became a leader for the 5 friends and developed a friendly relationship with each.
The plot starts to gain course when Munna falls in love with a BSc student named Harini (played by Genelia). Although Harini rejects Munna and his friends too, they eventually become really good friends. Despite the rejection from Harini, Munna didn’t lose hope and tried to propose to Harini again during their visit to a resort. Harini agrees to accept Munna’s proposal but on one condition; the challenge was to streak off on Mount Road to prove his love.
Things go topsy-turvy when Munna gets caught by the police and is imprisoned for a day and fined Rs.1000. Despite being hailed by the police, Munna never revealed the fact that Harini has told him to do so for the sake of her career. Hearing this, Harini ran off to the police station and bails him out as well as accepts his proposal.
Being in a relationship with Harini came at a price though. Munna and Harini were soon forced to stay away from each other until they both completed their studies. Their parents tried to separate the lovers but they eloped anyway. Knowing about this, their parents mutually decide to disown the kids and kick them out of their houses. As a resistance, Krishna, Kumar, Babu and Juju leave their houses to accompany their friend Munna along with Harini.
Unable to stand up on their own, Mangalam helps the kids with the idea of starting a band and getting recognition. Things started to ramp up for Boys (the name of the band) and they managed to grab an opportunity directly from Sony Music.
Celebrating their success with a beer party, Krishna accidentally spills the incident about Rani in front of Harini which resulted in her heartbreak. Harini flees back to her home agonized despite everyone telling her that nothing actually happened.
The story takes a turn when the gang tries to search for Rani and while doing so Kumar gets run-over by a moving bus. Kumar’s death causes Munna to back off from Harini and he leaves her to her own decision.
After certain events, Harini (lead singer of Boys) was called by MTV for an interview which was challenged by one condition by Harini’s parents; Munna had to sign divorce papers from Harini. Munna accepted the condition however when they reunite later at a live concert, their love held no bounds and the movie drops the curtain with Harini accepting Munna and kissing him.
