Mee Raqsam is the story of a young Muslim girl, Maryam, who has the dream and talent to become a Bharatnatyam dancer. Mariyam has the full support of her father as she tries to follow her dream, but she faces opposition from the conservative Hindu and Muslim elders in her community. The fundamentalists don’t want to see this mixing of both cultures and do everything they can to stop Mariyam. Nevertheless, in this heartwarming story, Mariyam fights the social evil of bigotry to follow her dream.
