Farhan Akhtar In Reply To Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt And Katrina Kaif, Jee Le Zara: There’s Room for Girl’s Stories

Jee Le Zara starring Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt will be releasing next year. This is the first time ever that these Bollywood babes will be collaborating for. With no male character in lead role, Farhan stated his views on the film which strikes very interesting.

Akhtar states that Jee Le Zaraa, written by Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and him, is his attempt to see the world through the gaze of women. He stated that whether it’s a drama, comedy or thriller, there should be films made about women. That balance is healthy for the creative world. Where you have the male point of view, you also have the female point of view on things. Emotionally, the construct of the two is similar on a certain plane yet different. To see the world through women’s eyes is important in popular culture. The more we embrace it, the healthier it will be for society.

Akhtar hopes to incorporate the road trip movie, slated for 2023, into plans next year. He said the plan is to go into production in the latter part of next year. He is delighted with the response to the announcement of the film and that there is room for stories of girls going out and doing their thing.

In August, on the occasion of Dil Chahta Hai’s 20th birthday (2001), Farhan Akhtar announced that he would resume his directorial duties with Jee Le Zaraa, starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. Filming in the post-pandemic world will be an unprecedented experience for the director. While he is happy that the wheels of the entertainment industry are turning again, Akhtar believes the emotional repercussions of the pandemic will be understood at a later stage.
