Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai, a new sitcom on &TV began airing on 30 March. The show stars Farhana Parveen, Amrish Bobby, Akansha Sharma, and Pawan Singh in the lead roles. Set in Lucknow, the show revolves around the story of two families who live in the same mansion and wish to someday own the whole mansion. Read on to know our review of the first episode of the show.

The first episode of Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai begins by taking us to the city of Lucknow. The haveli in the picture is narrating her own story, of how the British left India and divided her into two. Now the two divided parts are owned by two separate families, the Mishras and the Mirzas, who also have their own claims to the entire haveli. Then, we see the story of the two families, who are at a constant tussle.

There is a third enemy who aims to profit from the two families’ fights – the politicians Bittu Kapoor and Pappu Pandey. These two local politicians aim to own the haveli’s land to construct a shopping complex there.

Later, the show sets up the rivalry between Zafar Ali Mirza (Pawan Singh) and Ramesh Prasad Mishra (Amrish Bobby), with their competition of catching a kite. This competition escalates quickly and leads to their eventual fight about owning the haveli. Their wives, Sakina Mirza (Akansha Sharma) and Shanti Mishra (Farhana Parveen) also get involved in this argument. The women are also shown to have their own rivalry about the mansion, which they forget when their common household problems surface.

Further, we are also introduced to the character of Paro, who is a common housemaid to both families. Paro is a gossipmonger and a big opportunist, who is referred to as the ‘newspaper of Lucknow’ by the women of the haveli.

Among these fights, the children of the families are shown to be the neutral ones, who share a strong bond of friendship among themselves, regardless of the fact that their families are rivals. Ramesh Prasad (Pankaj Soni) Mishra’s father and Zafar Ali Mirza’s mother (Archna Shukla) also share a bond of friendship, away from their children’s rivalries.

However, Ramesh and Zafar see the politicians as the bigger enemy and forget their fight and unite to face them together. When the politicians try a divide-and-rule policy, both the men side with the other and don’t let the politicians win.
