Boney Kapoor To Produce The Hindi Remake Of Mammootty Starrer ‘One’, Deets Inside

In the hub of Bollywood’s ‘regional movie remakes’, Boney Kapoor seems to be upping his game. The renowned director-producer has acquired rights to several regional films. He is all set to treat the audience with their Hindi version. And now, the recent reports suggest that Kapoor will also be backing the Hindi remake of Mammootty starrer ‘One’. A “dependable” actor is in talks for the Hindi remake while the film might go on floors in 2022.
The 2021 Malayalam political drama ‘One’ opened up to mixed reviews but was a colossal hit among the masses. Considering this, Boney Kapoor’s friend Rajesh Vasani of ‘Paras Publicity’ gave him a heads-up to buy the official rights of the project. In an interview with a news daily, Vasani revealed that a “dependable” actor will feature as the lead. Also, the shooting of the film will begin somewhere in 2022.
Kapoor, who is quite busy with an array of film projects has a great interest in regional cinema. Recently, he backed the Tamil and Telugu remakes of the hit Hindi drama ‘Pink’. On the other hand, Boney will be producing the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film ‘Helen’. The remake will star his daughter Janhvi Kapoor in the titular role. Furthermore, he has plans for the revival of another Tamil blockbuster Comali which might star Arjun Kapoor in the lead.
Boney Kapoor has also shown a great interest in the Tamil remake of Anubhav Sinha’s ‘Article 15’. While nothing more about the project has been revealed yet, the director-producer will be getting back to it once he completes ‘Maidaan’. Currently, he is busy planning the release of this biographical sports drama. Maidaan features Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, and Keerthy Suresh in pivotal roles.
