Celebrities Extend Support To Farmers Amid The Ongoing Protest At Delhi Border Points
Trending NewsThousand of farmers has been protesting on Delhi border points against the three farm laws passed by the central government. Several celebrities have been showing support for the farmers by joining them or through social media.
With hundreds of farmers from Haryana, Punjab and other states holding demonstrations for many days at Delhi’s border points, several celebrities have started extending support for the farmers. Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh was the first of the few faces who took an initiative to support the farmers. Later, celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Dharmendra Deol, Mika Singh, Riteish Deshmukh and many others took to their social media handles to support farmers.
Diljit Dosanjh went on to support farmers by joining them in the protests on Delhi border points. He is also supporting farmers through his social media. The actor has been showing support to the farmers who are protesting through speeches and by sitting with them. He also supported the Bharat Band requested on 8 November by the farmers. Diljit Dosanjh also posted a series of tweets supporting farmers. The singer also indulged in an ugly spat with actress Kangana Ranaut as she shared her piece of mind on the ongoing protest. Diljit Dosanjh also donated ₹1 crore to the farmers amid the protest.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas also opined her thoughts on the farmers’ protest row. As the farmers met the government for the fifth time with their demands for scrapping the three new farm laws, Priyanka Chopra tweeted that this “crisis should be resolved sooner than later”. Calling the farmers “India’s food soldiers”, Chopra wrote that their “fears need to be allayed and hopes need to be met.” She replied to Diljit Dosanjh’s tweet, in which the latter had shared photos of farmers being fed by people.

Singer Mika Singh also shared a video on social media where he extended his support for the farmers. He also urged farmers to stay peaceful and be patient. Riteish Deshmukh also extended his support for the farmer’s protest as he wrote, “If you eat today, thank a farmer. I stand in solidarity with every farmer in our country. #JaiKisaan (sic).” Other popular faces like Daler Mehendi, Chitrangda Singh, Sonu Sood, Zeeshan Ayyub, Himanshi Khurana and many others extended support for farmers.
