An actor in Bollywood who has given only hit movies in his career, barring one. He has shown his acting skills in films like Badlapur and October. At the same time, he has earned his stardom through commercial movies where he can be seen showing off his six-pack abs, groovy dance moves, and beautiful timing for comedy. Varun enjoys a massive fandom, and it is more due to his talents than his background.
Growing up, Varun was very naughty. He used to go on sets and play random music and dance anywhere he’d find any space. He also was a thumb-sucker, and he removed it only when he was about to do some devil’s deed. Once, David was teaching him till 3 AM for a particular exam when he left to revise. He came back to ask if he had his phone, and Varun denied it. David held him and shook him up, and said he had the mobile. Varun replied no, and the very next moment, the mobile fell out of his underwear.
Varun used to live in his world as a child. He wasn’t very ambitious or serious about anything in his life.
Varun Dhawan had always had this in his mind that he wanted to be an actor. When he announced to his family that he’d be pursuing the acting career, David stoically asked him to make it on his own like his brother and not expect him to launch him. Varun himself, too, didn’t want to get launched by his father as he felt that he wouldn’t be able to learn much from his father. He spent his entire childhood watching him work behind the camera and on the editing table. He didn’t think there would be anything new. He also knew that in the career of his father, he never launched a new face, he shouldn’t be an exception. He had the same zeal to make it on his own as his father & brother.
Varun Dhawan was trained in acting by Barry John while working as an assistant director for Karan Johar. He knew that Varun wished to join the industry, so he made him thoroughly work on his acting and dancing skills and physique. His graceful moves result from street jazz he learned from Shiamak Davar and dancing from Sanjay Yadav. He showed Karan Johar his short film Adrenochrome, in which he had acted. Karan liked the film and asked him to prepare for the auditions of Student of the Year.
Varun Dhawan met Natasha when he was in 6th standard. He liked her vibes. Their parents knew each other, so she used to frequent his home often, and so, they became close friends. Their friendship deepened over the years, and they never realized that it had grown to something more. Natasha was moving away when they both realized that there was more to their friendship. They started dating each other, and Varun even proposed to her twice or thrice while Natasha rejected him every time. When they got together, Natasha, a shy and private person, suggested keeping things confidential as she didn’t want paps pestering her. Varun finds his solace and his strength in her. He finally got hitched to the love of his life.
Varun loves acting, but something that he doesn’t like about the profession is putting on makeup. He finds the activity to be extremely boring. He finds portraying emotions on the screen to be taxing. He also doesn’t approve of the odd hours in which actors are subjected to work sometimes. But for his love for acting, he bears them all.
Varun, in his career, has done the typical commercial roles, the light ones, and the dark ones. In none of those roles has he disappointed anyone. He even did a movie like Sui Dhaaga, which people never expected him to do, but doing just that gives him a kick. He even doesn’t shy away from chasing the directors he wishes to work with. He kept bugging Shoojit Sircar for months when he got the role in October.
He accepts the films not just because they’d earn him money, the story of the film should touch his heart. When he hears the film's story, if he feels the storyline is solid, he’d even decrease his charges to work in the movie.
Varun Dhawan is an actor who has been expanding his horizons with each of his projects. He had back-to-back hits and mostly chose his films on instinct, and all of them have created a massive hysteria among the masses and the critics. Varun Dhawan is truly a prodigy and an actor of pure talent.
