Daniel Craig has quipped that whoever succeeds him as James Bond will most certainly be envious of him. When No Time To Die hits theatres next week, Craig will make his fifth and last outing as 007 covert spy. After a series of delays due to COVID-19, audiences will finally get to see Bond’s final mission with Craig at the helm, after the film was originally scheduled for an April 2020 release.
Craig will miss playing Bond
Craig recently mentioned bidding goodbye to this cherished character on a television show. The actor expressed gratitude to the producers for allowing him to wrap things up on his own terms, before adding that he will miss playing Bond. Craig then remarked that whoever takes over the post next will most likely be quite resentful of him. Craig described the scene as emotional, praising his character and stating that James Bond has been “the biggest thing” in his professional life.

Following the release of Spectre in 2015, Craig made it clear that he would not be reprising his role as Bond, declaring that he would sooner die than make another Bond film, citing his age and an injury sustained while filming Spectre as reasons. Craig has since stated that he is immensely thankful for the opportunity to play Bond for the past 15 years, conceding that he should have phrased things differently.
