Danny revolves around a murder mystery. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar will be seen in the role of a police officer who investigates the case of a double murder with the help of a police dog named Danny.

Here’s our complete review of the comedy-drama that’s currently streaming on the ZEE5 platform.

Danny revolves around a murder case of an unidentified woman. A young woman is raped, beaten up, and burnt to death in the district of Tanjore. Inspector Kunthavai picks up this complex murder case and solves it with the help of a smart police dog, Danny. While Danny helps in collecting evidence, Kunthavai manages to crack the case and nab the gang of dangerous criminals who rape young women and cruelly murder them.

Danny is a film that highlights the gruesome nature of crimes against women. Varalaxmi’s latest film is not for a weak heart as it takes the audience back to the brutality of such crimes and makes us feel helpless about not having a firm solution to this problem yet. Danny is chilling and heart-wrenching to watch, especially when you consider the scenes where the criminal tortures the victim.

Well, isn’t that what the makers intended to achieve through this edge-of-the-seat thriller murder mystery? There are moments in the film Danny that will make you cringe, but if you can watch a news channel 24/7, then you can definitely sit through the film as it is the need of the hour and we need to make these voices heard.

Varalaxmi, playing the cop, is quite convincing and her acting is indeed impressive. You can resonate with her, with the expressions of anger and helplessness on her face. The actress has also managed to strike a balance between her duty and emotions without going overboard. The supporting actors too did a great job in the film. We absolutely loved Vinod Kishan’s performance in the film. Let’s not forget the titular Danny; he was too adorable throughout.
