Considered to be Lord Ganesh’s favourite food (and ours too!), these dumplings are typically made with jaggery and grated coconut. 1. Strawberry Modak
These strawberry modak are made with strawberry pulp which is used as a mixture instead of the grated coconut used normally. When mixed with dry fruits and cardamom powder, the modak is even more tempting to taste. It’s a perfect dish for all those who want to eat something sugar-free during the festival. 2. Beetache Modak
If you are conscious about your health and still want to indulge in eating modak, here’s one recipe you can try. Ever heard of modak made out of beetroot? Well, you have now! This dish can be prepared simply by adding grated beetroot to a frying pan and mixing it with coconut, sugar, cardamom powder, and milk. Allow this mixture to cool down and then set it in the shape of a modak with the help of a mould. That’s all folks! Simple isn’t it? Go try this recipe now.
3. Papaya Modak
This modak is a fruity delight for everyone during the Ganesh Chaturthi and the recipe is as easy as it sounds. The stuffing that goes inside the Modak includes cashew powder, jaggery, khuskhus, saffron, and Papaya slices which are cooked with a spoonful of ghee. This is then added inside the modak. Papaya modak is recommended by the chef himself so the authentic taste of a modak is guaranteed!
4. Paneer Mawa Modak
This modak is full of flavours as it contains paneer, butter, mawa, crushed dry fruits, and grated coconut. Mix the mawa, paneer, and butter in a thick bottomed pan. Stir until the mixture thickens. Put this mixture in a mould and take them out once they are set. Lo and behold! These delicious modaks are ready to eat!
5. Bhajyanchya Saaliche Modak
We’re sure that you would have never heard of this recipe, let alone made it before. This quirky modak recipe is made out of the vegetable peels that are usually thrown away.
