Maari 14 September 2023 Written Update : The Goons Try to Stop Surya

In the previous episode of Maari, the next day, Surya and the family reach the temple. Surya prays to the deity to cure Maari. Jagdish and Murugan pray for Maari’s speedy recovery. Surya purifies himself and adorns an ascetic dress to perform the task. He then lights the lamp to be burned to ‘Kattamman’ with the ‘Maa Vilakku’.  Devi’s spirit watches Surya and worries whether he will succeed in completing the task. Siddhar advises Surya that the lamp on his head should not blow away. Surya assures Siddhar of taking the lamp safely to the temple. Surya walks barefoot with the lamp on his head. Surya recalls Siddhar’s words when he sees a figure pass by. Devi’s spirit assures Maari that Surya will fight all the odds and save her. Jagdish and Hasini pray for Surya and Maari. The doctor decides to operate on Maari. Tara and Jasmine are delighted to see Maari’s plight and wish for her death. The thorns and pebbles hurt Surya’s feet, but he remains undeterred and walks towards the ‘Kattamman’ temple with the lamp on his head. Surya recalls Siddhar’s words as he faces obstacles.

In the next episode of Maari, while Surya, to save Maari, risks his life and crosses the pond to reach the temple, the doctors operate on her. Devi’s spirit heaves a sigh of relief when Surya succeeds in crossing the lake with the lamp intact on his head. Jasmine decides to hinder Maari’s surgery and tries to cut the power. But Devi’s spirit appears and punishes Jasmine for her treachery. Jasmine senses Devi’s spirit’s presence and tries to escape but it thrashes her. The goons hired by Sankarapandi, wait to kill Surya. Surya faces the goons as they attack him to stop him from reaching the temple. A few villagers spot the goons bothering Surya and rush to help him. They bash the goons and chase them away. The villagers warn Surya about the impending danger and ask him to return. But Surya remains undeterred by their words and insists on completing the ritual. Jasmine thinks of another plan to stop Maari’s operation. She bribes the security guard and asks him to cut the power to the operation room. The greedy guard gets tempted and agrees to help Jasmine.  But Devi’s spirit thrashes him and chases him away.
