National Cancer Awareness Day: Cancer Survivor Manisha Koirala Shares A Remarkable Note Of Encouragement; Shares TB Pics From Her Treatment Days

Veteran Dil Se actress and cancer survivor, Manisha Koirala took to her Instagram handle on National Cancer Awareness Day to offer a word of encouragement and support to those battling the disease. Opening up about her time, Manisha shared a couple of photos from her cancer treatment days

Cancer survivor Manisha Koirala has opened up about her struggle with the deadly C. On the occasion, National Cancer Awareness Day, Manisha took her Instagram and shared a post about her cancer journey. Manisha shared several pictures from the time when she was battling cancer. She expressed her desire to extend her best wishes to everyone who is going through the difficult process of cancer treatment. In her post, she mentioned that it’s challenging, but anyone who puts their mind to it will be more than capable of enduring it. She also expressed the importance of commemorating those who died, while also celebrating those who have risen to fight back. She also mentioned the importance to enhance public awareness of this ailment while sharing inspiring stories of people who have overcome it.

After being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012, Manisha has subsequently recovered from the disease. In Mumbai, on January 8, 2018, she celebrated the publication of her memoir, Healed: How Cancer Gave Me a New Life. She wrote a book about her struggle with cancer and how she overcame the disease to become a survivor.

Manisha was born into a well-to-do family in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, and made her Hindi film debut with Saudagar in 1991, which also happened to be her first significant part. After that, she starred in several films like 1942: A Love Story, Akele Hum Akele Tum, Bombay, Khamoshi: The Musical, Dil Se (The Musical), Mann, Lajja, Company, and others. Several Filmfare Awards have been bestowed to her in honour of her performances in films such as Bombay, Khamoshi: The Musical, and Company.

Following her recovery from illness, Manisha has appeared in several films- most recently Prassthanam, directed by Deva Katta. She has also appeared in the Sanju, which was helmed by Rajkumar Hirani. The Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon film Shehzada, which has recently begun production and will be released later this year, is now in production, and Manisha is currently filming for it.
