The South sensation has been admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai after he went there for a routine checkup. The actor, who was in New Delhi a few days back to receive the esteemed Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to cinema, had gone to the hospital for a routine checkup, where he later had to be admitted.
According to the local news reports, the actor has suffered a burst blood vessel, which was revealed in an MRI scan. The diagnosis is said to have been that of infarction, a condition caused by obstruction of the blood supply to an organ or region of tissue, typically by a thrombus or embolus. A source informed a leading portal that Necrosis was caused due to inadequate blood supply to the affected area. It may be caused by artery blockages, rupture, mechanical compression, or vasoconstriction. The same sources have confirmed that the actor could be facing a more complicated condition, but it is not as alarming.
Last year in December, the star had been admitted to the Apollo hospital, Hyderabad, due to fluctuating blood pressure and exhaustion. The 70-year-old star has featured in Bollywood as well as South Indian films and has a widespread fan following from all the parts of India. Rajinikanth had made his debut in 1975 with K Balachander’s Apoorva Ragangal and has completed more than 45 years in the Tamil film industry.
