Samantha has, reportedly, declined alimony from Naga Chaitanya

According to a few reports floating around, Samantha has said no to the alimony from Naga Chaitanya. She apparently doesn’t want to take even a penny from Chaitanya or his family. Coming from Samantha, it doesn’t really come as a surprise.

The two will be filing for divorce by mutual consent. Reportedly, Samantha was offered Rs 200 crore as alimony.

Samantha has worked hard to make a name for herself in the world of cinema and is considered a top-notch actor with some critically acclaimed performances in her kitty. The actor also runs a fashion brand called ‘Saaki’ which has just turned 1 year old.

Samantha was recently seen in the role of Raaji, an LTTE fighter in season 2 of “Family Man”.  She debuted in 2010 with Gautham Vasudev Menon’s acclaimed Telugu film titled Ye Maaya Chesave. It was a romantic film with Naga Chaitanya opposite Samantha. She has featured in films like Dookudu, Eega, Neethane En Ponvasantham, Manam, A Aa, Rangasthalam, and more. Super Deluxe, Majili and Oh! Baby established her credentials as a powerful performer.

The couple dated for more than 7 years before tying the knot in 2017. Called a power couple, Samantha and Naga were loved by their fans who referred to them together as ChaySam.

The rumours were rife soon after Samantha dropped Akkineni from her name on social media accounts and was seen missing at the success bash of Naga’s latest hit Love Story with Sai Pallavi.

At the time, senior actor and politician Khushbu Sunder had also tweeted

“What happens between a couple, is between them. Nobody knows the actual reason why they part ways, except the two of them. What we can do as humans is to respect their privacy and give them space to understand the situation more. Stop assuming, speculating and coming to conclusions,” she tweeted, adding a folded hands emoji at the end.

Soon Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation on social media confirming all the rumours. “To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us. We request our fans, well-wishers and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thanking you for your support.” It was posted simultaneously by Chaitanya and Samantha.
