Tapsee pannus remarks on being called “Mard” after her fitness transformation in the movie “Rashmi Rocket”.

Filmfare award winner Indian actress Tapsee pannu imbibes the role of a female athlete whose life takes a turn when she has to through the procedure of gender testing in order to prove her authenticity. She faces objectification and harsh remarks over how “manly” she looks in the well-received trailer of the movie.

The reality of the story, she reveals is that she had to undergo vigorous training to appear as a professional athlete. The negative remarks were faced powerfully “Who defines what’s feminine and what is not? Is it just about your muscular build that you will be judged on who is a female and who is not? Do you realize that there are some hormonal imbalances that are there in certain females by default, it is not their choice? It might be a result of that they end up having the kind of physique that they have,” says Tapsee.

She also thanks her supporters and fans through her social media and pays tribute to all the women and athletes who undergo discrimination for not conventionally looking a particular way. She says, “Heartfelt thank you from yours Truly. But there are many women who actually hear this daily for no fault of theirs. An ode to all the athletes who give their sweat and blood to the sport and their nation and still get to hear this.” With the perfect balance of love and strength, the actress has created more curiosity and admiration in the minds of the keen audience for the release of the movie.

The protagonist has done a great job dealing with hate comments revolving around the stigma of the word “Mard”. Her tweets signify how it is not necessarily manly when one athlete appears strong and competitive.  The plot of the movie intends to break the conventional shackles of gender testing and masculinity in the field of sports at the same time being inspirational and entertaining.
