We Think Ranveer Singh Would Make The Perfect Gabbar Or Mogambo If They Remade Sholay & Mr. India; Here’s Why
मनोरंजनRanveer Singh would add a lot of drama to the characters of Gabbar Singh and Mogambo, we are sure Ranveer would pull off well is Mogambo from Mr. India
Ranveer Singh surprised everyone with his act as the villainous Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. That was the first time Ranveer played a negative role and we must say he was very impressive. He won praises for his role from his fans and the audience alike.
While Ranveer, in an interview, said that his character Alauddin Khilji reminded him of Khal Drogo of Game Of Thrones, some of his fans compared it to Heath Ledger’s Joker. But we think that Ranveer would be a perfect fit to play the roles of famous villains from two iconic Bollywood films, Sholay and Mr. India if they were ever to be remade today. No other actor would fit the role perfectly.
While the late Amjad Khan played the famous villain Gabbar Singh in Sholay, Amrish Puri was Mogambo, the villain in Mr. India. Both these characters had the madness to them, similar to Ranveer’s Alauddin Khilji.
Sholay was one of the biggest hits of its time, and even though it had actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Dharmendra in lead roles, it was Amjad Khan’s role as the villain Gabbar that became extremely popular. While we aren’t sure if anyone would do justice by remaking Sholay, we are confident that if it were ever to be remade, Ranveer would make the perfect Gabbar. Ranveer would add a lot of drama to the character and do the “Nach Basanti!” act to perfection!
Another role that we are sure Ranveer would pull off well is Mogambo from Mr. India. While reports earlier of the film’s remake were doing the rounds, we are yet to see it go on floors. However, if it has a remake, the makers should consider Ranveer for sure, if not for anything else but the similarity in Ranveer and Mogambo’s fashion sense. Am sure all his fans can imagine him saying, “ Mogambo khush hua!”
Ranveer’s role as Alauddin Khilji is termed as one of the best villains of all time in Bollywood, and we would love to see him in these avatars, wouldn’t we? For now, we can look forward to Ranveer as cricketer Kapil Dev in his upcoming film ‘83, based on the cricketer’s life. The film will also feature Deepika Padukone in the role of his wife.
