West Bengal Election’s ‘Star Wars’: Jaya Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty Campaign for TMC and BJP in the State

With the Assembly Elections and their preparations going on full-fledged in the country, especially in the state of West Bengal, the two biggest contesting parties of the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Trinamool Congress, have recently upped their games. Read on to know more about it.
For their electoral campaigns in West Bengal, the political parties BJP and TMC, have chosen to send the ‘stars’ to help their campaigning. The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed actor Mithun Chakraborty for their campaigning, and at the same time, the Trinamool Congress has appointed actress Jaya Bachchan for their side of campaigning. Both of the stars of the Hindi film industry have been actively leading their campaigns, raising the temperature of the electoral campaigning in the state.
Jaya Bachchan, who joined the campaigning for the TMC very recently, also gave a speech in Bengali, where she talked about increasing the development in the state of West Bengal. Jaya Bachchan is also a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party.

She has campaigned for the Trinamool Congress MLA Arup Biswas, who is standing in elections from Tollygunge in Kolkata, West Bengal. He is up against the BJP leader Babul Supriyo, who is contesting in the same constituency. When asked about Jaya Bachchan’s campaigning for Arup Biswas, Babul Supriyo said that he was confident about one thing, that even in her campaigning, Jaya Bachchan would not speak anything against him.
On the other side, Mithun Chakraborty, who was earlier a part of the Trinamool Congress, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party earlier in March this year.
