Last weekend was a blast for all Zee Kannada fans because it was the 13th edition of the Zee Kutumba Awards (2019), an award show that recognises all the stars on the channel’s roster including primetime shows and reality shows. The prestigious event began with all the actors coming on stage and dancing for the massive number of fans present there. This was followed by a lovely message by the iconic music composer of the state, Nadabramha Hamsalekha sir. He was then joined by Chinnari Mutha Vijay Raghavendra and Master Anand.
Through a hilarious clip, Anushree was then called on stage and the audiences were in splits. Soon the winners were honoured , and here’s how it all played out.
1. Nominations for the Best Amma
To give away the award for the Best Amma, the veteran Srinivas Murthy sir was called on stage. The winner was Parimala from Gattimela. She was so grateful to all the fans and everyone who supported her on this journey. Parimala became emotional when everyone surprised her by bringing her mother, the wife of the Hasya Chakravarthy of Karnataka, Sharadamma Narasimharaju.
2. Vedanth and Amulya from Gattimela gave a sizzling performance on stage next
3. Nominations for the Best Appa
To give away this award, Shankar Aswath sir was called on stage. And the Best Appa award went to Hanumantha from Paaru.
4. Nominations for the Best Magalu
The beautiful actress Meghana Gaonkar was called on stage to present the Best Magalu award. The winner was Belli from Yaare Nee Mohini, who was very surprised when her name was called out. She then showed her gratitude for everyone who made sure she got this award.
4. Nominations for the Best Maga
The award for the Best Maga, which was presented by actor Vijay, went to Aditya from the hit show Paaru.
5. Next, there was romantic performance by Kamali and Rishi and the audience went gaga
6. Nominations for the Best Atthe
Raghu Mukherjee and Anu (Prabhakar) Mukherjee came on stage to present this next award. And they announced the winner as none other than Sumathi from the show Bramhagantu. The lovely actress showed her gratitude for all those who have been with her on this journey.
7. Nominations for the Best Sose
The veteran Rajendra Singh sir was invited on stage to announce this award, which was then given to Geetha from the hit show Bramhagantu. Namma Gundamma came on the stage all smiles to collect her award in a princess gown. She also sang a few lines for her fans.
8. Nominations for the Sahodari
The Talking Star of Sandalwood, Srujan Lokesh was called up on stage to give the award for the Best Sahodari. As you can see, the award went to the three Gattimela sisters, Aarthi, Adithi and Anjali. When the mic was given to Aarthi she called Amulya on stage as according to her without Ammu the four of them wouldn’t be there. Their winning speeches ended with happy tears!
9. Nominations for the Best Sahodara
Mr Kaviraj and AP Arjun were called on stage to give away the trophies. There were surprisingly two winners for this award; Preethu from Paaru and Vicky from Gattimela.
10. Best Mytho Fiction Show
Sonal Monteiro from the film Panchatantra was called on stage to give the award for the Best Mytho Fiction show to the team of Ughe Ughe Mhadeshwara.
11. After this award, the leading actresses from our Zee Kannada shows performed on a devotional Goddess’s song and the audience loved every bit. Check it out!
12. Award for the Iconic Role of the Year
Actress Lakshmi was invited on stage to give away this prestigious award. The trophy was given to the legendary actress Vinaya Prasad aka Arasane Koteya Akhilandeshwari from the show Paaru. Vinaya ma’am was called on stage after a small intro clip as a tribute to all the contributions she has made. The actress proudly praised the entire Zee Kannada channel for giving so much encouragement to everyone in such a grand manner.
13. Nominations for the Best Child Star
Tiny tots Anoop and Dimpanna from Dance Karnataka Dance Family War 2 and Drama Juniors came on stage and kicked Master Anand and Anushree as they wanted to announce the nominees. The nominated child artists are, Anjali from Gattimela, Atharva from Subbalakshmi Samsara, Ganesh from Paaru, Srishti from Subbalakshmi Samsara, Swathi from Yaare Nee Mohini. All the Drama Juniors were then invited on stage to present the award which went to Ganesh from Paaru.
14. Dr Vishnuvardhan Sir’s son-in-law Aniruddha Jatkar aka Aaryavardhan from Jothe Jotheyali, performed beautifully with Anu on stage, next

15. The Award for the Best Performer Forever – Female
Actress Samyuktha Hornad and her mother Sudha Belawadi came on stage to give the award for the Best Performer Forever – Female to Subbalakshmi from the show Subbalakshmi Samsara.
16. The Award for the Best Performer Forever – Male
Actress Shruti Prakash, who was invited on stage to give the award presented it to none other than Arjun from the show Naagini.
17. Nominations for the Best Comedian – Female
To give away the award the Navarasa Nayaka Jaggesh and his wife were called on stage. The award went Damini from the show Paaru.
18. Nominations for the Best Comedian – Male
To present the award, the hosts called upon Pranesh Sir. The trophy was received by Kantha from the hit show Gattimela.
19. A powerful act was performed next by Arjun from Naagini and Shri Krishna from the show Radha Kalyana
20. Nominations for the Best Villain – Male
The busiest villain of Sandalwood, actor Vasishta Simha came on stage to announce the winner for this award, i.e, Bhaira from Yaare Nee Mohini and Rudra from the Naagini.
21. Nominations for the Best Villain – Female
The Sandalwood actor Dhananjay was invited by the hosts to present the award for the Best Villain – Female which was given to Maya and Neelambari from the show Yaare Nee Mohini.
22. A soulful choir performance by all the participants from the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame was the next act on stage
23. Nomination for the Best Ajji
The yester-year actor Srinath sir was called on stage to give away this award. And the trophy was presented to Annapoorna Mahajan from the show Kamali, the second year in a row. Padmavasanthi ma’am and Srinath sir recreated their romance in this dance performance.

24. The Award for the Pride of Zee Kannada
To present the award Vijay Raghvendra called upon Ramesh Aravind to do the honours and the winner was none other than the Navarasa Nayaka of Sandalwood, Jaggesh sir.
25. Award for Zee Kannada’s Hiriya Sadasya
The WWR host Ramesh Aravind was asked to present this award too, to Maharishi Anand Guruji from the devotional morning show Maharishi Vaani.

27. Nominations for the Best Anchor
Amulya and Vedanth from Gattimela took over Master Anand and Anushree’s stage for a bit to announce the nominees for the best Anchor. To present this award the Rebel Queen of Sandalwood, Rakshita Prem was called up on stage, who declared the winner as Master Anand and hostess Anushree.
28. The Chinnari Mutha of Sandalwood Vijay Raghavendra performed stylishly for all his fans and they absolutely loved every bit
29. Nominations for the Best Reality Show
Kamali and Rishi came on stage to announce the winners in this category and the awards were given to Comedy Khiladigalu Season 3 and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs Season 16.
Harshika Poonacha was invited to give away the awards.
30. Next was a performance by the lead couple of the show Yaare Nee Mohini, Muthu and Belli
31. Award for the New Sensation of Zee Kannada
The entire team of Jothe Jotheyali was called on stage for making a record-breaking success throughout all channels of Zee.
32. Nominations for the Favourite Actor in a Lead Role – Female
To present the award, Dr Vishnuvardhan’s wife and daughter Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and Keerthi were invited on stage to give away the award, which was won by Amulya from Gattimela.
33. Nominations for the Best Actor in a Lead Role – Female
Bharati Vishnuvardhan and her daughter Keerthi gave away the awards to not one but two actresses, Paaru and Kamali.
34. Meghana Gaonkar entertained the audience and celebrities alike with her dazzling performance next
35. Nominations for the Favourite Actor in a Lead Role – Male
The Roaring Star Sriimurali was called on stage to give away this award to the winner Vedanth from the show Gattimela.
36. Nominations for Best Actor in a Lead Role – Male
Sriimurali presented this award to Rishi from the show Kamali, who was excited about his win.
38. Paaru and Aditya showed their romantic prowess on stage next by dancing for their fans and colleagues

Zee Kannada’s business head Raghavendra Hunsur himself came on stage to announce this award, which was presented to the entire team of Gattimela.
