Aparajita Apu stars Susmita Dey and Rohaan Bhattacharjee in the lead roles of Apu and Dipu, respectively. While Dipu was set to marry Monalisa Dutta, the latter eloped with her lover. And now, it looks like Dipu will finally marry his suitable match, Apu. However, the atmosphere at their wedding is nowhere close to what we anticipated it would be. In fact, it is quite the opposite with intense tension.

Dutta Family and Dipu’s state of mind
Monalisa Dutta’s parents were tremendously worried about their daughter upon her disappearance and infuriated at seeing Apu in Monalisa’s bridal attire. But Dipu is going through much worse. It looks like he has been in a state of utter confusion while also fighting an internal battle ever since seeing Apu arrive as his to-be-bride, instead of Monalisa.
Does Dipu deserve to be feeling this way despite getting to marry Apu, who he actually had real feelings for?
Supu’s frustration surfaces
Further, Apu’s actions have led her sister Supu to turn unimaginably furious. Supu’s anger saw no limits when she found Apu standing in the bridal attire under the chadnatala with no answers to the humiliating questions being thrown at her. The picture says it all!
Loaded with sorrow, frustration, embarrassment, stress, and much more, Supu slapped Apu right across her face. Now, is this what a bride should ideally go through at her wedding?
A division within the Mukherjee family
With Apu’s shubho drishti being done with Dipu, a weird sense of conflict has arisen within the members of the Mukherjee family itself. Dipu’s father, sisters, eldest sister-in-law, eldest and second-oldest brother and many others are in absolute favour of the Apu and Dipu getting married. As we can see, they stand anxious, uncertain of what is to follow next.
On the other hand, Dipu’s elder brother, aunt Juthika, and second-oldest sister-in-law are completely against it. This conflict of interest has worsened Dipu’s clarity of thought, leaving him more disturbed on the ongoing matter than ever.
Apu’s efforts left unappreciated
Protecting Dipu from a lying and uncaring Monalisa Dutta, who was his bride-to-be, Apu let the girl elope with her lover. Further, to prevent any loss of respect or dignity of the Mukherjee family, she selflessly volunteered to be the woman that Dipu could marry and take home. But she was quickly left in a pool of tears, insult, and humiliation for her immense selflessness. The distress she is in is visible, and this wasn’t what she deserved, at all.
Well, we did want a happily ever after for Apu and Dipu, but we simply did not foresee their wedding to have such a stressful environment whatsoever.
