Arya 3 Could See A New Lead Face In Vijay Deverakonda

The much-touted Arya anthology by Tollywood director Sukumar could see a change of face. If Arya and Arya 2 had Tollywood’s dashing hero Allu Arjun in the lead, Sukumar is keen to cast Vijay Deverakonda in the lead for Arya 3, if the grapevine is to be believed.

Sukumar who is presently involved with his directorial venture Pushpa starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, is expected to start Arya 3 after wrapping up Pushpa. Sukumar had confirmed that Arya 3 was in the works in interaction during Instagram live, but had held the cards close to his chest.

The director’s reported move to cast Vijay Deverakonda instead of Allu Arjun may seem to fly in the face of reason, at least for the latter’s fans who would have loved to see him reprise the lead role for the third time.

Sukumar has dropped broad hints that he is teaming up with Vijay Deverakonda for this next film which the Falcon Creations banner is penciled into bankroll. This has only lent credence to reports that Vijay Deverakonda could be the lead in Arya 3, even as official confirmation is yet to come from either of the camps.

A tweet from the handle @MostlyTelugu noted that the latest buzz is that the director is planning to replace Allu Arjun aka Bunny in Arya and Arya 2 with Vijay Deverakonda in the third part of this film.

What makes this change, if it does happen is that the Allu Arjun-Sukumar duo had combined to give Tollywood two of its greatest hits with Arya, which grossed ₹300 million and Arya 2. The duo teamed up for Pushpa, a pan-India film that industry watchers expect to hit the screens a week before Christmas. Srivalli, a song from Pushpa is already released, raising expectations from fans.

Vijay Deverakonda on the other hand is pacing for his upcoming release Liger that his fans are expecting to be released soon. Vijay Deverakonda has Ananya Panday as his lead in this film that Puri Jagannadh has directed and Dharma Productions of Karan Johar has funded.
