Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2: After Kartik Aaryan Gets Called ‘Sasta Akshay Kumar’ Makers Defend Actor’s First Look – Deets Inside

A plethora of things has happened since it was decided that Kartik Aaryan will be the leading actor of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The upcoming horror film also stars Kiara Advani as the leading lady of the movie. The makers, crew, and cast had kickstarted shooting the film in Oct 2019 but, due to the pandemic-infused lockdown things had got delayed. However, recently, Kartik Aaryan had wrapped up the shoot of the climax of his film and had posted about the same via his social media handle.

Following the post, the entire enthusiasm of the horror-comedy film was raised and a few days ago, director Anees Bazmee had posted the motion poster of the film.

Kartik Aaryan had posted the first look of the motion poster of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 on his social media handle and got subjected to heavy trolling. Netizens called him ‘a sasta Akshay Kumar’ because his looks from the motion poster were similar to Akshay Kumar’s looks from the first installment of the movie. Kartik Aaryan is featured in the motion poster wearing rudraksha beads and a bandana on his head.

For the unversed, Akshay Kumar had played psychiatrist Dr. Aditya Shrivastav in Bhool Bhulaiyaa and he wore a similar getup in the first scene (and parts of the title song). Now, director Anees Bazmee clarified to a leading publication that he wants people to know the Bhool Bhulaiyaa connection as Kartik’s role in the second part is not similar, it is something unique. Defending the purpose behind similarity, the director said, ”When you are making a film of the same title, then people want to see something similar to the earlier one. While they don’t want to see the same stuff but something different.”
