Bollywood News: Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap Quizzed By Income Tax Officials

The Income Tax Department on Wednesday held raids at the residences of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, and actress Taapsee Pannu. Along with their residences, officials also raided different properties owned by the two. Currently, the duo is undergoing questioning by the IT officials and it is rumoured that Anurag and Taapsee will be questioned in a total of three phases.

Income Tax raids aren’t a new thing to Bollywood as multiple actors have gone through the same in the past few years. Joining this list is hit director Anurag Kashyap and actress Taapsee Pannu. Anurag is being questioned about the company he formed after Phantom Films was dissolved in 2018. It is rumoured that the IT department has had some breakthrough regarding the company’s operations and have found some vital clues regarding Anurag’s involvement in tax fraud.

As per reports, Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap were interrogated for about six hours and the officials are now looking at the documentation and account information of the duo. The IT department is expected to continue searches at places like offices of KWAN, Good and Bad Films, Andolan films and at Kashyap’s residence in Mumbai for a second round.

Both Taapsee and Anurag were on the sets of their latest film in Pune when the raids took place. After Taapsee wrapped up the shoot for Loop Lapeta, she announced her involvement in Anurag Kashyap’s upcoming thriller Dobaaraa. This is the third time the filmmaker-actor duo have come together after 2018’s film Manmarziyaan and biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh.
