Chris Hemsworth’s new movie “Extraction 2”
HollywoodOne of the most viewed movies’ “Extraction” has its sequel “Extraction 2” all set to be released. The trailer was released over the weekend which confirms that Tyler Rake is alive
At the top of most watched movies during the pandemic was an obvious contender: the down-and-dirty, Chris Hemsworth-led action thriller, Extraction. Produced by the Russo bros. and directed by Avengers: Endgame stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave, the movie laced a ’90s-era political thriller with modern direct-to-video action. Two months into a global pandemic, it was a colossal hit. Obviously, we’re getting Extraction 2.
At the end of Extraction, Hemsworth’s black-ops merc Tyler Rake took a bullet to the neck while protecting Ovi, the son of an Indian drug lord. Not too many ways to come back from one of those! But the Russos know what they’re doing, and Extraction ends on a note where a blurry figure that looks a heck of a lot like Rake surfaces in Ovi’s life.
Chris Hemsworth is officially returning for a sequel to Extraction as he revealed that his character Tyler Rake did not die at the end of the 2020 movie. He shared an extension of the climax of Extraction that saw Rake falling in a river after getting shot. The new footage shows the character swimming to safety after gaining consciousness.
Hemsworth said he is in Australia where he will soon start filming for the sequel with director Sam Hargrave, and producers Joe and Anthony Russo.
“Yes, Tyler Rake is alive and well and ready to take on his next mission. If you thought our first film pushed the limits, just wait to see what Sam and I have planned for this next installment.
“I also want to personally give a special thanks to all the fans. It’s because of your reactions to the first film and your support that Tyler Rake lives on in the sequel,” Hemsworth said.
Hemsworth will be seen next in the upcoming Marvel Studios fourquel, Thor: Love and Thunder, due out on May 6, 2022.
