Deepika Padukone Becomes The Only Indian Actress To Feature In The Variety International Women’s Impact Report 2021

Deepika Padukone shares her excitement with fans on social media as she gets enlisted in the Variety International Women’s Impact Report 2021.

Deepika Padukone has always made India proud on several occasions. She’s a global icon who is not just known for her incredible acting skills and exquisite beauty but also for her charitable and humanitarian work. Owing to all these and more, the Tamasha actress has been honoured with being enlisted in the Variety International Women’s Impact Report 2021.

The actress has been lauded, for her contribution to the Indian cinema as well as for partaking in philanthropic efforts. While the actress has been highly appreciated for her performance in films like Padmavat and Chhapaak, she is also acknowledged for her choice of films as these films have had a great impact on the societal thinking. Deepika has also been very vocal about her opinions especially on mental health and also started a foundation in 2015 called The Live Laugh Love Foundation which helped her push further the initiative of talking openly about mental health.

The actress shared a post on her Instagram profile while letting the world know about this achievement. Her post read, “Humbled & Honoured to be featured in Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report 2021!”

Introducing the actress, Variety wrote, “Bollywood star Padukone produced and starred in Chhapaak, a social drama about the survivor of an acid attack that was released early last year. It was a changeup following from the 2018 period blockbuster Padmaavat, in which she plays Queen Padmavati.”

Talking to the publication about her journey, she said, “Fortunately, I’ve never had to make decisions based on the budget of a film or for various other reasons. It also depends on where I am emotionally in my life. A lot of my choices are dictated by that.”

Apart from Deepika, the only other Indian to be featured in this list is Amazon Prime Video’s head of India originals, Aparna Purohit.
