Naxalbari is an upcoming series on ZEE5 which is one of the rare shows looking in depth at the threat from Naxalites in India. Rajeev Khandelwal stars in this series as an STF officer who is given the responsibility to seek out and stop Naxalite activity in the area of Gadchiroli. The series is based on true incidents from the history of the Naxal movement in India.

Here are four films which are based on true incidents
1. Uri: The Surgical Strike
Uri: The Surgical Strike is one of the most popular and well-made war films in India. It’s common knowledge that the film is based on the 2016 surgical strike carried out by India as a response to the Uri terrorist attack.
2. Paltan
Paltan directed by JP Dutta one of India’s finest war filmmakers tells the story of the 1967 clashes on the Indo-China Border. It shows how the Indian forces achieved victory over China after losing to them in battle in 1962.
3. State of Siege: 26/11
State Of Siege: 26/11 is the story of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. The film stars Arjun Bijlani, Arjan Bajewa, and Vivek Dahiya as NSG Commandos who carry out the successful operation to take down the terrorists despite the obstacles laid in their path.
4. Parmanu
Parmanu is the story of India’s first nuclear tests in Pokhran carried out by the Indian military. Apart from ensuring complete safety during the tests, they also had to make sure that the American Government did not find out about their tests.
5. Special mention – Zidd
Zidd is an upcoming original series that is set to focus on the brave story of one Indian soldier. Amit Sadh plays the role of a Special Forces Officer who went on some of the most important military missions where he got injured. He turns his life around as a civilian by joining a business school.
