Having always led a simple life, he has even gone on record to say that his life isn’t worth writing a biography on as it lacks the masala needed. Charming, handsome and filled with energy, Jeetendra will forever remain a legend of the art, but we often forget that the humble actor actually leads an interesting life. Jeetendra made his debut with the film Navrang in the year 1959. Having stunned audiences with his energy, the actor made a name for himself with only a few films. Since then, he went on to act in over 200 movies, a feat not many have crossed. However, the story of how he landed his debut role is quite intriguing. A young Jeetendra was just visiting the industry to supply some gold following his father’s orders when he was spotted by filmmaker V Shantaram. The latter voiced his liking and roped him in for his debut movie.

During his career as an actor, Jeetendra was widely applauded for his dancing skills. His unique dance moves had a large fanbase and the actor has done steps falling under the same style in multiple movies, earning him the title of ‘Jumping Jack’. The quirky dancer also had a fun-filled wedding, which not many knows about. In her official biography, actress Hema Malini mentions how she almost got married to Jeetendra but didn’t go through.

Jeetendra married his childhood friend Shobha Kapoor, and lead a happy family. Not many know that the actor’s wedding also took place in a rather filmy style. One fine day, the actor called up his parents and told them that he was going to get married the very day. Although his father asked him to wait for a few days to get the wedding set up, the actor didn’t listen. He married his sweetheart that evening. The actor is now leading a happy retired life with his beloved wife and two children, Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor.
